The SPD Crime scene unit responds to all types of crimes ranging from burglaries, robberies, and suspicious packages. We also respond to death investigations, suspicious and homicide scenes.
Crime Scene photographs, searches, and collects evidence at the scene of a crime. Some examples of types of evidence collected are blood, DNA, fibers, instruments of crime, fingerprint evidence, fire arms, and bullets. We also use alternative light sources for locating evidence.
Crime Scene processes evidence brought into the crime lab for latent fingerprints using processing work station and various fingerprint powders and chemicals.
